These terms govern your use of Mystic Codex, on the web and in the Android app. Using the service means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.
What a reading is
Mystic Codex produces readings drawn from divinatory traditions — Western astrology, Chinese BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu, tarot, palmistry, face reading and numerology — written for you from the birth details and photographs you provide. They are generated by an AI model.
Readings are for reflection and entertainment. They are not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and nothing in a reading is a prediction of fact. Decisions you take after reading one are your own. If you need professional advice, consult a professional.
Your account
You may try Mystic Codex without an account. Creating one lets your readings follow you across devices. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for what happens under your account. You must be 13 or older.
When you upload a photograph of another person for a compatibility reading, you confirm you have their permission to do so.
Free readings and stardust
A set of readings is free every day and stays free — a daily horoscope, today’s energy and a daily tarot pull among them. Deeper readings are paid for with stardust, an in-app credit. New accounts receive 50 stardust, and you earn more each day you return.
Stardust has no cash value. It cannot be bought for money, exchanged for money, transferred, or refunded. It paces how much the service generates for you; it is not a currency. We may change what readings cost and what you earn as the service develops, and stardust already in your balance stays yours.
Mystic Codex Plus
Plus is a paid subscription costing $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year in US dollars, and opens the catalogue without spending stardust. There is no free trial. The free daily readings and the stardust every new account receives are there so you can judge the product before paying for it.
Billing, renewal and cancellation
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price above, until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time. If you subscribed on the web, cancel from the subscription page in the app. If you subscribed inside the Android app, cancel through your Google Play subscriptions — the app store that took the payment is the only place that can stop it.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- We may change prices. If we do, we will tell you before the change takes effect, and you may cancel before it does.
Refunds
Payments already made are generally non-refundable and we do not refund part periods. We will refund you where the law requires it, and where we have charged you for something you could not use.
If something we did stopped you using what you paid for — an outage, a fault, or an account we suspended through no fault of yours — tell us and we will refund the unused part. If you subscribed through Google Play, that store’s own refund process applies in addition to this.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload or circumvent the service; resell readings as your own; upload photographs of people who have not agreed to it; or use Mystic Codex to harass anyone. We may suspend accounts that do. Where a suspension is not your fault, we refund the unused part of the subscription.
Availability and change
We work to keep the service running but do not guarantee it is uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change or withdraw readings and features. Where a change materially reduces what a current subscriber is paying for, we refund the unused part of the subscription.
Your content and ours
What you give us — your birth details, your photographs, your readings — remains yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store that material and to send it to the processors named in our Privacy Policy. The app itself, its artwork and its written prompts remain ours.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you take after reading a reading.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
